Part of the Badger Mountain Trail System. Parking can be found on the east side, by the twin water storage tanks at the intersection of Summit St and Smith Ave, and the trail is accessed by a spur trail from the water tanks. There's no access from the main trailhead at the aptly named "Trailhead Park", unless you plan to walk your bike and get some looks for the first portion, about a quarter mile, but there is a parking lot with bathrooms and water fountains.

The trail is very well maintained with generally smooth changes in grade. Relatively flat switchbacks (no great berms in the corners). No extreme climbs aside from the initial push to get from the water tanks to the Sagebrush Trail, but climbing/descending is generally steady (think 'a two mile climb followed by a two mile descent'). The Sagebrush Trail provides access to the longer Skyline Trail.
