Bidwell Canyon Out and Back

Overview

The trail starts with a moderate single switchback climb on relatively shaded trail. It's impossible to get lost although several trails join with the main trail (all are clearly marked). There are several shallow rolling sections through a mix of pine and deciduous trees. Also, expect several bridge crossings over shallow creeks.

The track winds gradually making it easy to see any upcoming traffic and the trail is wide enough for three bike abreast to pass easily. The track crosses a road twice but it's easy to see where it picks up again. This is a really pretty trail to ride in spring, will likely be very hot trail in summer during mid-day. Would recommend morning ride.

Probably one of the best beginner trails you'll find anywhere and highly recommend to anyone just starting. Starting climb will be a little rough on a new rider but it's short and remainder of ride is fairly flat.
