Overview
A short scramble takes you up the edge of a steep rim to the circle of whitebark pine skeletons at the summit of Lamberson Butte, the highest point on this section of Gnarl Ridge . There's a great view up to the Newton Clark Glacier from here as well as down into the Newton Creek Canyon. A brief cross-country jaunt off the back of the summit will reunite you with the Timberline Trail.
