At this cobbled bar, the East and West Forks of the Hood River meet. You can see up the West Fork's lower gorge, but not as far as Punchbowl Falls , and views up the brushy banks of the East Fork are limited. The East Fork is an especially rugged stream that never really slows down from its source at Mount Hood , and the banks are in a constant state of rearrangement. The West Fork hosts a popular kayak/rafting whitewater run that passes through two gorges before the pullout above Punchbowl Falls .
