Tamanawas Falls-Bluegrass Ridge-East Fork Loop Hike

Overview

A backcountry loop takes you into a quiet area above Tamanawas Falls after you have visited that often very crowded destination. The stretches of the Elk Meadows. Bluegrass Ridge, and East Fork trails that you will hike see only a fraction of the humanity that visits the waterfall. The connection that draws them all together to make this very doable loop is the abandoned logging road, FR 3520-620, where occasional maintenance is done to keep a hiking corridor open. Note that the footbridge on the Bluegrass Ridge Trail over Cold Spring Creek has been gone for years, and you will have to make the crossing via fallen logs or a ford.
