The Multnomah Basin was once inhabited, reached by vehicle on a rough road that branches off of Palmer Mill Road. The old residents are now long gone, and their dwellings have been razed. The only structures are at Nesika Lodge , one of the Trails Club’s retreats. A looping network of trails, maintained by the Trails Club, leads around the basin, the southern part of which was not burned in the 2017 Eagle Creek Fire. You’ll get views through the burned trees to Cougar Rock , see up the Columbia River from Bickel Point , and enjoy the decorations on the Ornament Trail. All this in addition to the parade of pretty waterfalls that lead you to this place.
