North Fork Malheur River Hike

Overview

The 59-mile North Fork Malheur River is a tributary of the Malheur River. From its headwaters to the boundaries of the Malheur National Forest, the upper 25.5 miles were designated a National Wild and Scenic River in 1988. This pleasant hike follows a stretch of the North Fork Malheur River. The river is beautiful, but unfortunately many sections of the trail burned in the 2021 Black Butte Fire. Also, cows are frequent here.
