Overview
The 2002 Biscuit Fire burned 500,000 acres, including the entire Babyfoot Lake area. It remains the largest forest fire in Oregon's recent history (there were much larger fires in the 19th century). There is no shade at all along the trail, so plan accordingly. Also keep in mind that the hike to the lake is downhill, so all the elevation gain is on the way back.
