Damnation Creek Hike

Overview

About 1,000 feet of elevation loss takes you down through a redwood slope forest and into the Sitka spruce zone. From a small coastal bluff, you get views south to various offshore sea stacks and Patricks Point in the distance. Giant purple trilliums bloom in this area in early spring. The trail is generally well-graded, but you do have to anticipate that almost all the elevation gain is on the way back! Some recommend this hike as a summer excursion because of the frequent fog that wraps the forested slope in an air of mystery.
