Cedar Creek-Big Huckleberry Mountain Loop Hike

Overview

The Cedar Creek Trail #149 once ran up from the Wind River valley to join what is now the Pacific Crest Trail on a ridge west of Big Huckleberry Mountain . Most of the route has been abandoned for years - although you can look for trail traces over the summit of Weigle Hill - but a short section of ¾ mile, occasionally maintained trail runs up from FR 68 to join the PCT. A moderate loop includes the Cedar Creek Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Grassy Knoll Trail, and the unofficial Alway Trail back down to FR 68, on which you’ll walk a fairly level 1 ¼ miles back to your vehicle. You are unlikely to meet other members of your species on this loop.
