McKay Crossing Falls Hike

Overview

The Peter Skene Ogden Trail, a National Recreation Trail named after the early 19th century beaver trapper and explorer, travels about 8½ miles up Paulina Creek to Paulina Lake . The trail crosses only one road, at McKay Crossing Campground, and keeps to the general course of the creek. There are few little drops and waterfalls along the way, none more interesting than 23-foot McKay Crossing Falls , which plunges into a bowl-like amphitheater. This short hike takes you from the Ogden Trailhead to the waterfall up the course of Paulina Creek.
