East Lostine to Eagle Cap Hike

Overview

This is the easiest way up one of the big peaks in the Wallowa Mountains. That means it's also one of the most popular - you don't go here for solitude. However, since it's so far from the trailhead, it's not as crowded as it might be, and the people you run across are generally pretty friendly and appreciative of the wilderness.
