Stone Creek Loop Hike

Overview

Stone Creek is an 18-hole public golf course south of Oregon City. It was designed by Oregon’s most famous professional golfer, Peter Jacobsen, and his business partner Jim Hardy. The course opened in 2002 and was financed by a bond measure. It belongs to Clackamas County, for which it is a money-making venture. Also notable is the fact that the course has won several eco-friendly awards as it preserves wildlife corridors, minimizes pesticide use, and conserves water. In addition, a 2¾ mile chip-surface loop trail circles the property and part of the neighborhood. While you’ll be seeing some of the golf course and a number of large houses, the section above Beaver Creek is a lovely nature walk.
