Sherwood Wetlands Hike

Overview

Sherwood’s stretch of Metro’s Tonquin Trail, a route that follows features relating to the great Ice Age floods of 15,000 years ago, has coopted the old Cedar Creek Trail leading out of Stella Olsen Memorial Park and then extended that route to Highway 99. There are plans to provide a pedestrian bike underpass to continue north on the other side of the highway towards the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. The section described here follows Cedar Creek through a riparian bottomland and then under the shady conifers just above the creek.
