The 85-acre Meldrum Bar Park and 15-acre Dahl Beach Park in Gladstone include 100 acres of riverfront public space on the Willamette River at the mouth of the Clackamas River. The parks are very popular in the summer for local residents, so those seeking some semblance of quietude may want to visit from late fall to early spring. During those months, geese will be grazing the ball fields, the community gardens are put to bed, and usually only a few fishers will be staking their rods along the shoreline. River levels will be high, however, so you’ll miss the exposed cobbled bars that serve the summer crowds.
