Lewis and Clark Park Hike

Overview

The Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site is just across the Sandy River from Troutdale and sees its biggest crowds in the summer, when rafters float on the river, and beachgoers stake out a piece of sand. However, the park is much more than a crowded beach. A well labeled botanical trail loops around the developed area of the park. In addition, climber's trails access various faces on Broughton Bluff, and a boulderer's trail one and a half miles long heads east onto national forest land. The park is also a part of the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail.
