Far Northeast Portland has a notorious dearth of green spaces where residents can walk for an hour or so off of city sidewalks. One unlikely venue is the chip surface nature trail around the eastern section of Metro’s two Glendoveer Golf Courses. While at times you’ll be close to busy streets (148th, Glisan, and Halsey), you’ll also be passing through natural corridors with large conifers. Trilliums bloom here in the spring, and maples turn yellow in the fall. There are ¼ mile markers indicating your progress on this popular walking loop.
