Foster Floodplain Loop Hike

Overview

A 63-acre flood-prone area south of Foster Road underwent a facelift in the first decade of the 21st century after the City of Portland purchased 60 homes near Johnson Creek and demolished them. The restoration back to a natural area was completed in 2012, and a paved path was built that transects the area. This loop continues to two smaller natural areas near Foster, Brookside Wetland Natural Area and Beggars Tick Wildlife Refuge. You’ll use the Springwater Trail to return to the parking area.
