Overview
In 2024, a new trailhead for Forest Park was opened off of St. Helens Road. Eventually a nature center is planned for this location as well. Access to the park’s trail system is via Firelane 1, which follows a powerline corridor and receives much of the din and bustle of the Northwest Industrial Area. However, on a clear day, it will give the best views from Forest Park to the Cascade peaks. This loop allows for some significant elevation gain as you enter the more serene environs of the dense hillside forest and ascend to Skyline Boulevard. A short roadside path next to Skyline allows access to Firelane 3 for the descent.
