Buck Lake lies nestled below a talus bluff in the drainage of the Oak Grove Fork of the Clackamas River. There are some well-used campsites near the shore, and the lake, with its rocky shoreline, offers great summer swimming. Because the hike in is so short and easy, the lake can attract some rather noisy weekend clientele.
