Autzen Stadium is the home field of the University of Oregon Ducks football team. The stadium was constructed in 1967 on a landfill and has been renovated numerous times since. It replaced Hayward Field, which had been shared between the football and track and field teams. The stated official capacity is 54,000 but the highest recorded attendance was 60,055 on October 15th, 2011. The acoustics of the stadium have produced some of the highest measured decibel levels for sports events, which has made the venue somewhat intimidating for visiting teams. It is the largest sports arena in the state of Oregon. The stadium also plays host to music concerts: the Grateful Dead played there 10 times.
