As you do the Astoria Riverwalk Hike , you'll pass under this towering road bridge over the Columbia River, at 4.1 miles the longest continuous truss bridge on the North American continent. The steel components of the bridge were cast in Vancouver, Washington, and sent downriver by barge. The bridge was opened to traffic by the governors of Washington and Oregon in August 1966.
