Vern Whitaker Trail

Overview

From Route 79, the trail starts (and soon passes) the Cold Stream Trail. You slowly rise through grassy fields featuring ancient pines and live oak trees. After half a mile, you cross Stonewall Peak Trail and some rocky terrain.<br><br>You soon reach the apex of the trail, and after another half mile you come to the horse-trailer parking lot. Continue on past Little Stonewall Peak until you dead end on the Stonewall Peak Fire Road.
